Iver Fossum made his debut for Strømsgodset in 2013, but it was not until the year after that he broke through on the team. It watched David Nielsen from the first row. He had just joined as a coach at the club.

When David Nielsen had been an assistant for six years, he was the head coach. And was thus the primary responsibility to manage one of Norwegian football's great talents, which had first appearance in the Norwegian premier league as a 16-year-old.

- He was a superdygtig player, disciplined player, hard-working player. Skilled pasningsspiller with a super mentality for a young player. He played practically all the matches while I was there, so it is a skilled player, AaB have scored, says David Nielsen for advice.dk.

His AGF-team meetings Fossums AaB-crew Sunday dinner. This is the first time the two face each other, since the young Norwegian broke through in Strømsgodset. David Nielsen is still the coach, he has played the most matches during the: 32 (just as many as André Breitenreiter).

Since Iver Fossum already as a teenager played solid for Strømsgodset, was the comparisons with Martin Ødegaard hard to avoid. The two were, admittedly, not the same spillertyper, and Ødegaard was two years younger, but both the Norwegian press and, for example, English FourFourTwo called him 'the next Ødegaard.'

According to Norwegian media asked Real Madrid en also, on Fossum was for sale, when they were in Norway to make the purchase of Ødegaard finished. David Nielsen does not buy the comparison, however, agree so far, that the Fossums talent was great.

It was not at all any doubt. It is the two different players, we're talking about: a creative play (Ødegaard, eds.) and an otter, box-to-box (Fossum, eds.). But they had the same mentality, where it's 24 hours in a day is about to optimize its football. It has brought Zeal far, and I'm surprised that he ends up in Denmark, says AGF-the coach.

Why?

-Because the potential is greater than it. It is suppose to go somewhere where he is important. The mindset, I can easily follow. But I am surprised that he has not been able to break through to a greater extent, than he did in Hannover for one reason or another.

the main character took, however, by his own admission hypen with elevated ro. David Nielsen was good to give the young players time to develop in the forward, believes Iver Fossum.

- For me it was no problem. It was just fine. I did not read everything that was written. I concentrated just on that play. David was good at giving us space to just play football and let us concentrate on the things that were important to us. The Hype was not something that spent the time on, say, Norwegian.

He was on the whole pleased to have David Nielsen as coach. Both as an assistant and boss.

-It was very good. I really liked having him as a coach. We had many young players, as he showed great confidence. We also played good football, and we had a good team, " says Fossum.

What was he good for?

- He was really good to motivate the players both at training and before matches. And so we played fine football.

the Danish tv-viewers could in the autumn of the year 2018, see David Nielsen to give his AGF-team the one flaming peep talk after the other in the Hbo documentary series, 'AGF - between hope and hopelessness'. The kind that gave even the viewers behind the screen want to run out and tackle someone. The discipline is mastered, the coach is already in Norway.

- Yes, it was exactly what he did. I knew nothing of the documentary, I have not seen it, but it was the same as he did in the time I had him, says Iver Fossum.

The 23-year-old midfielder only managed nine Bundesliga matches last season for Hannover, who even moved out of the best variety. But why did he to his old træners surprise in Denmark?

I was very long in the Bundesliga, so I felt it was the right time to take away. I had been there for three and a half years, which was long enough.

While Iver Fossum did not reach the top in Hannover, predicts David Nielsen and the Norwegian has what it takes to be a success in Aalborg.
