'The game of your life' turns 15, the bizarre program that brought Telecinco's polygraph to fame

"That's true". This decontextualized affirmative statement can come from multiple sites, but surely for the faithful of the small screen there is a space that has come to mind: The game of your life. And it is that this iconic program presented by Emma García left multiple phrases and moments for history.

Despite the multiple criticisms that El juego de tu vida received for jeopardizing the future of a multitude of families that ended up broken in exchange for a sum of money that they could or could not take with them, this program broadcast on Telecinco lasted three seasons and became a television icon.

So much so that this Monday, April 3, it was recalled on social networks that the day before, specifically on April 2, 2008, this format adapted from the Colombian Nada más que la verdad was released, in which a protagonist answered questions about his life with the polygraph as evidence.

And it was thanks to this television format that the polygraph rose in popularity on Telecinco. Specifically, it served for the contestant to answer up to 21 questions about his privacy, with the risk that this entailed since if he did not stand up they would continue to escalate in difficulty and the possibility of ending his life. All for 100,000 euros.

The curious thing about it all is that although it seemed impossible, there were three contestants who managed to reach that figure and take it home. We are talking about Sergio Durán, who in 2008 did not hesitate to answer all the questions correctly and already in the first season of the format to win this succulent award. Among the questions to confess: an infidelity to his wife.

A year later, Emperatriz did the same, admitting that she had been unfaithful to her husband with his best friend and with several exes. Thanks to this, this contestant managed to add the 100,000 euros of the prize.

And just in 2010 Rosa María did the same to reach the highest number. Among the questions to answer, one of the hardest: "Do you think that people like your mother should not have children?"
