The Junior Report UE Mataró reappears in Portugal after a month of hiatus

After a first visit to Portugal at the beginning of summer, the Junior Report UE Mataró concluded its campaign in the neighboring country with its participation in the Portuguese 3x3 National Basketball Championship. Despite the adversities and more than a month without competing or training, the boys from Mataró closed a great 3x3 season reaching the semifinals of the Portuguese tournament.

The championship began in the group phase and the Catalan team was able to get a ticket to the final phase thanks to its second place. The lack of competitive rhythm did not stop them, but the lack of filming was noted after a month without competing. It was in the knockout phase where they showed their best version, from less to more, reaching the semifinals.

In that game the adventure ended. After a great comeback by the Mataronese, a basket at the last second by one of the local teams left the dream of the final out of reach. Despite the defeat in the semifinals, the Junior Report UE Mataró can return to Spain with his head held high.

The young Catalan talents return from Portugal with the satisfaction of having reached the semifinals and of having left a great impression this 3-on-3 season, in which their triumph in the U17 Spanish Championship especially shines. With the start of September, they will prepare for a new 5v5 campaign, while taking a well-deserved break from the exciting world of 3v3.
