Junior Report and the EU Mataró join forces to promote 3x3 basketball

The newspaper for young people Junior Report and the 3x3 section of the Unió Esportiva Mataró have reached a sponsorship agreement with the aim of disseminating the values promoted by this booming modality in the world of basketball.

The national reach of its teams will help to expand the diffusion both locally and throughout Spain. Based on this agreement, Junior Report will open a new section dedicated exclusively to 3x3 basketball in a firm commitment to its development.

For Joan Pi, president of the Unió Esportiva Mataró, “3x3 basketball is an ongoing commitment. For teams like our sub17 it is vital to have this type of sponsorship so that they can continue to move around Spain, we hope that the agreement will be of great benefit to both parties.”

Francesc Castanyer, editor of the current affairs newspaper for young people, sees sponsorship as an opportunity to promote values: “Sport promotes teamwork and cooperation, developing communication skills and respect for others. Sportsmanship instills honesty and loyalty, encouraging athletes to compete fairly and abide by established rules. Likewise, it promotes respect for diversity and inclusion, encouraging the participation of people of different cultures, genders and abilities. These values, among others, contribute to the integral formation of individuals and is what gives meaning to the sponsorship of Junior Report. We want the UE Mataró 3x3 basketball to be a vehicle for transmitting these values”.

The UE Mataró has the Spanish 3x3 basketball champion team in the sub17 category. Without a doubt, Junior Report will be in charge of bringing all the news about this squad, which is currently competing in the Herbalife 3x3 Series in Zaragoza.

Eduard Coll was decisive in achieving this Spanish Championship and his appointment as MVP of the tournament corroborates it. The player believes that the arrival of these supports “is an opportunity, first for us and then for 3x3 basketball. That the modality gains visibility makes it more valuable. Financial aid gives us the opportunity to move around Spain and earn FIBA points, as well as gain a lot of experience. It's great for the category, this world grows more every day”.

We have also had the opportunity to speak with the team's coach, Sergi Teodoro, about his perspective regarding the sponsorship: “For us it makes it possible for us to continue. After the Spanish Championship, various competitive proposals have been opened to us both inside and outside the country and this has costs. Sponsorships like those of Junior Report give us everything, without this we would not be in Zaragoza right now.”
