A teacher is arrested for organizing clandestine fights between her students in Florida

A teacher at a Florida school, in the United States, has been arrested for encouraging and organizing fights between students, which took place within the classrooms themselves.

Angel Footman, 23, allegedly allowed the teens to beat each other while he watched from his table, the New York Post has reported. On occasions, the teacher would give instructions on how to hit them, and she would warn them not to call attention to themselves by shouting.

The events occurred in a sixth grade class at Griffin High School in Tallahassee. After a few months, the situation reached the ears of the management team after a group of former students denounced the facts.

According to the students, the teacher had transformed the classroom into a clandestine boxing academy. Videos contributed by the girls showed Footman at his desk watching the students hit each other. The teacher was also seen berating the teens for pulling their hair, and controlling the duration of the "rounds," which was 30 seconds.

According to the investigation provided by WCTV, the young people declared that they would decide to move their fights to the "sanctuary", this place would have been offered to the students by the teacher.

Footman, in her statement, denied being the organizer of the fights, but admitted not having informed her superiors about it, or about any type of misconduct. Due to what happened, the woman was arrested and released after a few hours with some charges. She is charged with four counts of contributing to juvenile delinquency.
