The event occurred this Sunday when the man, who goes by the name of Francisco Torres (33 years old) and lives in Massachusetts, activated one of the levers on the security doors and activated the handle that deploys the emergency slide 45 minutes before landing at Logan International Airport (Boston).

One of the plane's attendants went to the door after receiving the alarm signal and managed to restore the safety of the crew. Later, one of his companions informed him that the passenger later arrested had been responsible for moving the levers.

After this, according to the indictment, the man had a discussion with the staff of this flight, operated by the United Airlines company, in which he evaded his guilt and assured that they had no evidence to incriminate him.

The captain of the aircraft was notified that Torres posed a threat, so he had to land as soon as possible, and this fact aroused the fury of the passenger, who rushed at one of the attendants while carrying a broken metal spoon, trying to injure him. in the neck up to three times.

The rest of the crew then collaborated to immobilize Torres, who was arrested immediately after landing in Boston.

The hearing of the case has been set for this Thursday and Torres could face a sentence that includes scenarios such as life imprisonment, five years of probation or a fine whose maximum amount would amount to $250,000.
