Zeus and Hera marry in the Free

They say that in Greek mythology, Hera was the goddess of the home and marriage, women, the sky and the stars. Although she was the daughter of Kronos and Rhea, like Zeus, she was also his wife. After being carried away by her father and returned to the world thanks to the efforts of Metis and Zeus, Hera married Zeus. And this is where the subtitle of the work that premieres on October 4 at the Espai Lliure de Montjuïc comes from: L'ultima f**king nit (or the festival of Zeus and Hera).

Marc Artigau signs the text and direction of this proposal for audiences of all ages, especially young people from the age of 14, which has stage advice and choreography by Núria Guiu Sagarra.

"The starting point of the work is the wedding between Zeus and Hera, brought to the present day in a nightclub - explains Artigau-. It is an eternal party, which lasts 300 years, and from here we have gathered a few more myths: Ares, the god of war; Aphrodite, desire; Dionysus, who is art and wine; and Hades, the dead”.

On the stage of Espai Lliure, Moha Amazian is Dionysus, Natàlia Mas is Hades, Júlia Molins is Hera, Guim Oliver is Zeus, Marcel Quesada is Aphrodite and Clara Solé is Ares.

The author explains that the seed was born "from those teenagers who recorded a girl practicing fellatio" at the Waka nightclub. "The party that took place there was precisely called The last fucking night. But the work reflects on representation, on reality and myths", he concludes.
