In Zaragoza, the FoodVerzo restaurant presents an extraordinary culinary challenge: devour a giant hamburger with potatoes, onion rings and other accessories, weighing a total of four and a half kilos, along with three liters of drink, in just one hour and eight minutes.

This challenge, devised by the Venezuelan brothers and owners of the establishment, Luigi and Mario Rubertone, offers a tempting reward: 200 euros for those brave people who complete the feat within the stipulated time.

The initiative, which starts on December 4, invites diners to participate in the challenge, reserving at least five days in advance due to the artisanal preparation of the hamburger bun and the special preparation of the Galician blonde beef. Luigi highlights the quality of the ingredients and the anticipation necessary to participate in this unique gastronomic challenge.

The current record, set at one hour and eight minutes by Valentín Ferrer, challenges participants to equal or surpass this mark, although a limit of one hour and eight minutes is set. The restaurant warns that this challenge is designed for professionals and those who are not prepared to eat four and a half kilos of food in a short period could have negative consequences.

Participants can choose the drink of their choice between water, soft drink or beer, and the challenge is strictly individual. Those who do not complete the feat in the allotted time or decide not to finish the burger must pay the 130 euros corresponding to the cost of what was consumed.

Registration is done through direct messages on Instagram, where the date is established and a brief prior interview is carried out to evaluate the suitability of the participant. Luigi highlights the importance of avoiding food waste and mentions the possibility of creating a smaller challenge in the future.

The challenge ingredients include Galician blonde beef, pulled pork, crispy bacon, onion rings, edam and cheddar cheeses, French fries and a special house sauce.

The restaurant also anticipates the participation of Esttik in January, a serious contender to beat the current record and the possible return of the former record holder to regain his title. A gastronomic challenge that not only tests the appetite, but also the resistance and determination of brave diners.
