The Jardins de Pedralbes festival moves to Poble Espanyol under the name of Alma

Barcelona will have a new festival this summer, Alma, by Concert Studio, the promoter of the Jardins de Pedralbes Festival for the last decade. The new musical proposal will take place at Poble Espanyol from July 10 to 27, with a cast of artists who will be announced next Tuesday.

It was Martín Pérez himself, director of Concert Studio, who broke the news this Friday through a video posted on social networks and recorded in the Pedralbes gardens themselves, where he thanked those attending the festival "for these ten years that They have been so important in our lives.”

"We are going to do everything in our power to make it as close as possible to what people have found in Pedralbes and have liked", explains Martín Pérez, recalling that throughout the ten editions in which they have been in charge of the Diagonal festival have had more than 500,000 attendees.

The Alma festival concerts in Poble Espanyol will have a capacity of 5,000 people, significantly higher than those in Pedralbes. This figure includes 500 seated and numbered seats that will be achieved thanks to the installation of a Grandstand. The agreement with the Montjuïc venue is still open, and the duration of the festival could be extended one day. In any case, it is intended to close a long-term contract, with a view to consolidating the new date in the calendar of summer festivals in Barcelona.

The program, which will be made public this Tuesday, will include national and international artists along the lines of the musical event that Concert Studio has done up to now in the Pedralbes gardens. Clipper's was awarded the organization of the music festival at the Palau de Pedralbes in the public tender of the Generalitat. The decision put an end to a journey that had been going on since 2020.

According to the director of Concert Studio, who considers Alma the eleventh edition of Pedralbes, the wake of the event that they have organized up to now "continues and does not end here": "it moves". “Festivals have soul. The soul is the people, the talent, the interest, the illusion, the initiative, the smile, the education, the way of doing those of us who have made the Jardines Pedralbes Festival. We will meet there from here to nothing, this summer ”, he has detailed in the video.
