Surprise in the nativity scene: they find a manger with an unusual occupant asleep inside

Dogs have an amazing ability: the ability to sleep in any place and position. Whether in a cozy corner of the house or in the bustle of a park, dogs can fall into a deep sleep with enviable ease.

Thus, in the main square of the Brazilian municipality of Capoeiras, where the neighbors have been busy decorating with lights and ribbons for the Christmas holidays, an unexpected visitor has found shelter: a beautiful dog named Caramelo, who chose the manger, normally empty until Christmas , to take a nap.

The story of this unique encounter begins with Junior Almeida, a local resident, who came across the surprising scene during a morning walk. As he approached, he discovered that the occupant of the nativity scene was not a porcelain figure placed before its time, but Caramel resting.

Far from being disappointed at not discovering any religious-themed finds, Almeida welcomed Caramelo as part of the Christmas scene, as a reflection of his belief that "God is in everything and everyone, including animals."

At first, Almeida thought Caramelo was a homeless street dog, but she soon discovered that, like Jesus, the central protagonist of the nativity scene, she had also been the recipient of generous acts of kindness.

According to what she told The Dodo, Caramelo lives nearby, in a restaurant in the square, and is fed and cared for by the residents of the area. Although her origins are unknown, Almeida suspects that Caramelo was abandoned in the square at some point in the past. If that were true, her presence in the humble manger would take on even more meaning.
