Renfe puts tickets on sale for the Modernisme route with stops in Mataró and Canet

Renfe has put tickets on sale for the route of the project "Tourist Trains Barcelona is much more" which, under the title "Gourmet Modernism", will depart on April 27 and June 1 from the Francia station and will have stops in Mataró and Canet de Mar (Maresme).

People interested in this proposal will be able to purchase the packages on the Renfe website, at a price of 50 euros for adults, 20 for children from 4 to 13 years old and free from 0 to 3 years old.

Last year this route was done twice, with a very good reception from the 200 people who participated. To the “Gourmet Modernism” travelers were added the hundred participants of the “Viles Marineres Route”, with stops in Sitges and Vilanova.

The train, with capacity for a hundred passengers and vinyled for the occasion with the image of the campaign, will leave the França station at 9:00 am. The return will take place at the same station around 8:00 p.m.

On this occasion, visitors will be able to enjoy a dramatized visit to the Nau Gaudí in Mataró, a strawberry tasting in the Plaza Gran de Mataró and a visit to the Coll y Regàs house. In Canet there will be a dramatized visit to the House Museum, a visit to the stained glass workshop, and you will even be able to discover how Canet's “sweet” stained glass windows are made: a base of tea paste dough with colored gelatin that provides the optical illusion to those who taste it and that is reminiscent of the modernist stained glass windows, a symbol of Canet de Mar.

The “Tourist Trains Barcelona is much more” initiative, promoted by an agreement between the Barcelona Provincial Council and Renfe, allows travelers to tour the province of Barcelona and discover its main attractions, through sustainable and responsible mobility, and with activities exclusive. The main objective is to bring the territory closer to all types of audiences, so that they can get to know it and enjoy it with activities related to modernism and gastronomy. The experience aims to implement in Barcelona a successful model that operates in Galicia and Aragon.
