If you have a dog, it is likely that one of your main concerns is whether or not a food is safe for your best furry friend. The theory says that a dog's diet should be limited to a quality feed or a natural diet specifically formulated for him. But let's face it, sometimes it's downright difficult not to give him something from our plate when he asks for it.

The truth is that this question does not have a resounding answer. Dogs can eat yogurt, but not just anyone. We must choose a natural yogurt, without flavors. In addition, it cannot contain sugars or sweeteners such as xylitol or other derivatives to sweeten it.
Those that incorporate pieces of fruit or cereals are not suitable either, since they usually contain many additives and sugar. Regarding lactose, most dogs do not digest it well, so it is advisable that it be a lactose-free yogurt.
In short, if you want to give your dog yogurt, opt for the natural ones without sugar and without lactose. Greek yogurt (also sugar-free) and kefir are other alternatives that you can give your dog. If you choose the right yogurt, it will bring interesting benefits to your pet's health.
Even if you choose the right yogurt and despite the benefits mentioned above, yogurt should not have a major presence in your dog's eating pattern. That is, their diet must be based fundamentally on their feed or their specific natural diet.
Instead, yogurt should be reserved as an occasional treat or addition to your diet. For example, a tablespoon in one of their daily food rations or a teaspoon to reward good behavior.
The first few times you give him yogurt, you should keep an eye on him to make sure he does well and doesn't have any adverse reactions.
