Outrage in China over zoo that passed dogs off as pandas

The panda bear is the most typical animal in China. With its characteristic mix of black and white colors, this variety of bear is mostly known for eating bamboo and for not being particularly aggressive, which delights the public when they can visit them in zoos.

However, organizations such as the WWF (World Wildlife Fund) warn that this animal is in serious danger of extinction. In fact, since 2016 it has been considered a vulnerable species due to the deforestation of Chinese forests.

In Spain you can also see several pandas because the Royal Family has received cubs as gifts on different occasions. But in a zoo in China they have taken the intention of attracting people too far.

At the Taizhou Zoo there is a place where you can see pandas. However, when you look closely you can see that they are dogs with their fur dyed black and white, something reported on Twitter by user @SafarovaNatali.

Faced with accusations of mistreatment for having dyed the canines, the zoo spokesperson tried to justify the action: "There are no pandas in the zoo and that's why we wanted to do this. People also dye their hair and you can use the natural dye in dogs if they have long fur.”

For some time now, these types of 'disguised' dogs have become fashionable among the wealthiest Asians, to such an extent that pet stores could not meet the demand. However, the original dye only lasts six weeks, so you have to dye the dog on several occasions.
