In Spain, experts remember that drinking tap water is not harmful to your health. Biologist Dani Prieto, responsible for the TikTok account @bajo.elmicroscopio, also insists on this message. The specialist has analyzed a sample of tap water with a microscope and has shared the results with his followers.
"With a sterile pipette I take a sample, stain it with methylene blue and take it under the microscope to observe it. As expected, I do not observe any type of microorganisms present in it. The water is treated with chlorine, a very effective disinfectant which is added in very low doses to allow it to be suitable for consumption," explains this user.
For the unbelievers, remember that "this water was analyzed by a laboratory" and show the results. And he gives more reasons for its consumption: "As for the presence of possibly pathogenic bacteria, the presence of none was detected."
Prieto assures that there is no need to fear for the rest of the values either. "They are all within the ranges permitted by Decree 3/2023, which establishes the quality criteria for drinking water.
