Do you want your air fryer to last longer? Follow these cleaning and maintenance tricks

The air fryer is an appliance whose use has become popular in recent years due to its versatility when it comes to preparing fried foods such as French fries or croquettes without the need to use oil. However, few people clean it correctly, usually due to lack of knowledge.

Experts recommend that it be cleaned after each use to eliminate food residue and odors, in addition to ensuring its useful life and maintaining its non-stick surface.

To begin with, a trick to prevent the airfryer from getting excessively dirty is to place parchment paper or a silicone mat at the base of the basket, or use silicone or metal molds.

After using the fryer, all manufacturers agree that, before starting cleaning, it is essential that the machine has been unplugged from the electrical outlet and has cooled down. Once this step has been completed, you can start cleaning its exterior with a damp cloth or cloth.

Mostly, the baskets of this appliance can be washed in the dishwasher, but manufacturers also advise doing it by hand with a soft scouring pad and hot water.

From time to time, it is essential to clean the air fryer's resistance, that is, the upper internal part. Philips suggests in its manuals that you turn the machine upside down for greater comfort and use a soft or medium-hard bristle brush to remove stuck-on food debris. It is not recommended to do this with a steel strand brush or hard strands, as this could damage the coating of the resistance.

To make the air fryer even cleaner, this manufacturer suggests putting the device back upright, turning it on and letting it run for a few minutes without food inside so that any loose debris remains trapped in the container.

On the other hand, some models such as the Cecotec Turbo Cecofry 4D allow you to remove the part that covers the resistance so that it can be cleaned more comfortably.

The Cosori brand, for its part, suggests a trick to clean the airfryer thoroughly without using special cleaning products that could damage it. It consists of filling the basket with hot water and adding a splash of vinegar. After about 10 minutes, after rinsing it, the brand ensures that unwanted odors disappear.
