Burlesque is still alive in Barcelona thanks to La Cuchara de Bella, a project that was born in 2018 in response to the growing demand for this type of show after the closure of El Molino, the iconic Poble Sec venue, which the City Council acquired in 2021. for 6.2 million euros and which he now wants to convert into the home of flamenco, rumba, signature songs or jazz.

Juli Bellot, master of ceremonies at El Molino, and Estefanía Rodríguez, a passionate student of burlesque with extensive experience in event organization and executive production, joined forces to create La Cuchara de Bella, which this November has begun performances of its fifth season.

La Cuchara de Bella began its journey in small spaces, with friends and acquaintances, and then they moved to a small room in a hotel, where it grew steadily for two years. In 2021, the project took a step forward with the incorporation of Roger Arjona, a professional with more than 11 years of experience in lighting, production and technical coordination of shows.

La Cuchara de Bella has been constantly evolving with a multidisciplinary production that challenges conventions in each performance. In fact, this dynamic approach means that more than 25 artists participate in each annual edition of the show, contributing to the richness and diversity of the experience.

The proposal is designed both for burlesque lovers looking for an exciting experience and for those who have not yet explored this artistic genre, which La Cuchara de Bella decided to keep alive in Barcelona. The next performance, at the Sala Aquarella (Gran Via, 572), will be on December 15 at 9:30 p.m.
