Mutek will celebrate in style the 15 years since its arrival in the city of Barcelona. In November, Autechre was announced as the first confirmed for the International Festival of Digital Creativity and Electronic Music. The British duo with more than 30 years of experience are joined by 16 artists, including Actress, Ricardo Villalobos, Martin Messier and Sofia Kourtesis, as part of the lineup that will be announced at the beginning of 2024.

One of the big names that will come to Barcelona as part of this emblematic festival for electronic music in the city is Ricardo Villalobos. The Chilean celebrates 20 years since the release of his album Alcachofa and already had a successful participation in the 2016 edition, where he presented the live project VILOD, along with Max Loderbauer and Claudio Puntin. Another acquaintance of the festival is the British musician Actress, who will present his 2023 album LXXXVVVIII, the seventh studio album by the Wolverhamptom-born DJ.

From Quebec City, Martin Messier will arrive. The Canadian, who has been creating works that mix sound and images for more than 15 years, will premiere in Spain 1 drop 1000 years, a performance that reflects on homeostasis, the state of balance that the body's systems need to survive. One of the most anticipated debuts in Spain at Mutek is that of Sofia Kourtesis, the Peruvian DJ based in Berlin who presents her new album Madres de ella.

The first batch of artists of the festival, which will take place at Sala Apolo, Roca Gallery, P62, Antigua Fábrica Estrella Damm and Nitsa/Astin, is completed by the musicians Datum Cut, Hatis Noit, HitTech, Iglooghost, Jlin, Maher Daniel, Noémi Büchi, Pelada, Spime.Im, Sian Fan, and Miami duo Nick Leon

The festival, which began in Montreal and is currently held in Mexico City, Barcelona, ​​Tokyo, Buenos Aires and San Francisco, will celebrate its 15th anniversary between April 9 and 13 of next year.
