The afternoon of September 21 will be fondly remembered by the 40 subscribers who had the pleasure of enjoying a guided tour of Antoni Gaudí's first house: Casa Vicens. The first architectural legacy of the famous architect, located in the heart of the Gràcia neighborhood, is considered a jewel of modernism.
The Casa Vicens, considered by many to be the prelude to architectural modernism, has been recognized for its historical and cultural value, and has been included in the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List in 2005.
The tour began inside the emblematic house, which allowed attendees to explore from the first floor to the roof, a space full of Islamic and oriental references that evoke escape and contemplation.
Additionally, all attendees had the privilege of visiting After the fog, first flowers. The East and orientalisms, from modernism to modernity, a joint exhibition with Casa Asia that brings together works by 24 contemporary artists who interpret floral representation through various disciplines.
The visit culminated in the gardens of the house museum, where an exclusive cocktail was offered. Subscribers enjoyed a succulent appetizer that began with figs with sobrasada, honey and bee pollen, followed by a grilled eggplant bonbon with mascarpone, Girona beef tartare, micuit from L'Empordà and a Breton cookie with apple baked.
Without a doubt, it was an unforgettable afternoon that allowed those present to live and feel Casa Vicens in a very personal and intimate way.
