A fork and kitchen paper: the ultimate trick to roast potatoes in no time

Potatoes are a key food for everyday life in our kitchen. It is an ingredient with which we can prepare everything from an omelet to a puree, including a wide variety of stews. Whether to prepare one of these dishes or simply to use as a garnish for meat and fish, cooking or roasting potatoes is always an essential step. However, traditional methods can slow down cooking considerably, so if you don't have much time, we have discovered a trick with which you can roast potatoes in less than five minutes.

The TikTok profile @myrealfood has shared a publication in which it shows some tricks with which to prepare and use potatoes in the kitchen that are worth trying. One of the tips included in this video, which has already accumulated more than 31,000 likes, will help you roast potatoes in a simple and economical way like you've never done before. And much faster than in the oven!

To apply this trick, you just have to wash the potato skin well under the sink and prick it in several places with the help of a fork. Next, take a napkin or a piece of kitchen paper, wet it slightly and wrap it around the potatoes one by one. Then, you just have to microwave the potatoes for five minutes, et voilà! This way you will have roasted potatoes with skin ready to become the perfect garnish for your recipes.

Cooking potatoes is an essential step to make purees, lentils or a stew. But have you ever cooked them with the skin? Although it may seem paradoxical, this can help you when peeling them. Simply make a cut in half of each potato and cook them. Once ready, you can remove the peel from both portions by hand. You won't waste any more time with peelers!

On the other hand, if what you want is to prepare delicious French fries without using the frying pan, cut the raw potatoes into very thin slices. Place them in a glass container and season them with oil, salt and spices to taste. Finally, put them in the microwave for at least ten minutes, and that's it! You can taste some fries, with a texture similar to those in a bag, but 100% homemade.
