The world of culture is in mourning. And the unexpected death of Itziar Castro has been a hard blow for many. The actress died on December 7 after suffering cardiorespiratory arrest in the municipal swimming pool of Lloret de Mar. The Catalan was rehearsing her latest film when the sad event occurred.
Apart from her role in Spanish cinema, Castro was a great activist, committed to the LGTBI community, women's rights and, above all, a defender of the beauty of the diversity of bodies. For all this, it is not surprising that her wake was filled with flowers and signs of affection.
The last farewell to Itziar Castro took place on Sunday, December 10, in the Sala Pal·ladius in Pallejà (Barcelona), where a funeral chapel was set up open to anyone who wanted to come. Lucía Rivadulla, mother of the actress, decided to wear red for a clear reason: "I don't come in black, I come in red, because Itziar was red, red of light, red of life."
Now, Castro's mother has revealed the reasons for her daughter's death. And it's all due to a "sudden death", as she revealed for Europa Press. "She died happy," she added. And if anything has consoled him, in some way, it is that.
Even so, it has been very hard news for Lucía. "Really, as a mother, her heart exploded, but mine is going to explode too," she said. Some shocking statements that put on the table what is happening. Likewise, she has not hesitated to say thank you: "she will be liking this and she will be saying, 'Mom, here. You didn't want salt and now you have two cups.'"
But if there is one thing he wanted to make clear, it is that he was not taking any type of medication that could have caused his daughter's death. Among other things, she has expressed that the forensic experts asked her about that. Something to which she answered forcefully: "she didn't drink, she didn't smoke, she was a fat girl, but healthy."
A death that has generated great controversy on social networks. And people can often be very cruel by hiding behind an anonymous account. After this death, fatphobia has come to light. Even so, there have been many more positive comments and messages of affection towards the well-known actress.
