"We turned purple": the 'others' who ate the banquet of the bullfighter Juan Ortega and Carmen Otte for the wedding speak

The last minute cancellation of the wedding between the bullfighter Juan Ortega and Carmen Otte Alba, just an hour before the ceremony in Jerez de la Frontera, not only left the 500 guests and the bride's family in a state of shock, but which also raised an unexpected question: what happened to the banquet that the bride and groom had already prepared?

The agape, which should have been part of a day of joy and celebration, found an unexpected destination in a flamenco zambomba that coincidentally took place at the González Byass winery. Marcos Ruiz, a member of the flamenco group who was present at the event, recounted how the participants took advantage of this unexpected offer. "Pity for the girl but she hears, things happen," he lamented.

But while grief overwhelmed the bride, joy was established in the zambomba. As Ruiz told Europa Press, the group and the attendees "turned purple" taking advantage of the hors d'oeuvres and other dishes originally intended for the wedding guests. "I have never eaten more starters in my life," said the artist.

In this sense, Ruiz humorously described how the flamenco entourage and those attending his event, which numbered around 500 people, became recipients of a banquet that promised to be part of a “lady wedding.” According to her palate, "the quality of the starters was very good" and "the food was exquisite."

Those attending the zambomba put on their boots thanks to an unexpected regret. Ortega, known for his religious devotion, backed out of the wedding after a conversation with priest Josep María Quintana, who played a crucial role in his decision not to marry.

The surprise and dismay of the 500 guests, who had already arrived at the church of Santiago de Jerez de la Frontera, was palpable in the atmosphere. According to ABC, the bride's family took it very badly and charged the killer, holding him responsible for what happened and ordering him to take care of all the expenses. Ortega did not object to this request, knowing the damage he had done.

Now, the bride faces not only emotional disappointment, but also the possibility of legal action against Ortega. Although the bullfighter has taken care of all the expenses, estimated at around 90,000 euros, the situation could worsen in court, according to SEMANA, if the emotional and other damages suffered by Carmen and the guests are taken into account.
