'This is not Sweden' successfully inaugurates the tenth edition of the Serialized Fest

Yesterday, the tenth edition of the Serielizados Fest began with the screening of the first two episodes of Això no és Sweden. With the presence of the creator, director, producer and protagonist Aina Clotet and members of the series team, the Sala Phenomena hosted, with sold-out tickets, the world premiere of this European co-production "which is about the fear that many parents have of "It's time to raise and educate our children," Aina Clotet told La Vanguardia shortly before the premiere.

The actress was “happy and grateful” that her series was in charge of opening the International Series Festival in Barcelona. And she remembered that the directors of the festival, Betu Martínez and Víctor Sala, had played a very important role in the development of the series. "They encouraged us to go to one of the most important festivals dedicated to series from the Nordic countries to make viable a project that we have built with an almost cinema-like structure, because it has been financed by five public television stations: 3Cat, RTVE, STV (Sweden), YLE (Finland) and NDR (Germany),” Clotet added.

This is not Sweden is a dramatic comedy that follows a family that moves to the mountains of Collserola looking for a better life for their daughters, but an unexpected tragic event will put everything in question. Accompanying Clotet in the cast are Marcel Borràs (his partner in fiction and also in real life), Tomás del Estal, Nora Navas, Enric Auquer, Mabel Rivera and Nausicaa Bonnín, among others. The original idea is from Aina Clotet and Sergio Cameron, who is also a screenwriter along with Valentina Viso and Daniel González and co-director alongside Mar Coll. The series consists of eight 40-minute episodes shot in Catalan, Spanish, English and Swedish.

With Això és Suècia - which RTVE and 3Cat plan to premiere in November - this tenth edition of the International Series Festival began, which will be held in Barcelona until Saturday and in Madrid, next week, from October 24 to 29. The festival will offer a total of 42 titles, including the Iranian series The Actor, Jack Thorne's new fiction Best Interests, and the French political comedy Sous Contrôle. In both cities the international star guest will be Jesse Armstrong, the creator of Succession.

In Barcelona, the festival will combine premieres, exclusive screenings, live talks and podcasts, with numerous invited professionals. Among the premieres of series with the presence of their creators are La Mesías (Movistar Plus), with Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, Déjate ver (Atresplayer), with Álvaro Carmona, Les vides del Fèlix (HBO Max), a docuseries in which director Fèlix Colomer explores aspects of his past life from the perspective of his recent fatherhood, and Berto Romero's debut in the horror genre with The Other Side (Movistar Plus).
