The Norman Brookes Challenge Cup for men and the Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup for women, which will be displayed at the start of the men's and women's Open finals on January 27 and 28, will travel in two elegant and striking trunks from the firm , handcrafted by expert craftsmen in the house's historic workshops, in Asnières.
Its design includes a wooden frame covered with the iconic Monogram canvas and finished with the classic lozine trim and brass lock used on Louis Vuitton trunks since the 1960s.
Additionally, the two front panels of the trunk that fold back to display the trophy are decorated with a white V, in homage to the terms "victory" and "Vuitton."
This project reaffirms Louis Vuitton's historic relationship with tennis. A commitment that began with Roland Garros and the Davis Cup and that today is consolidated with the Australian Open. In addition to its connection with this sport, the house has created custom trunks for such emblematic trophies as the Rugby World Cup, the NBA Championship Trophy, the League of Legends World Cup, the Copa América and the aforementioned Copa America. of the Fifa World Cup.
