The strange complication suffered by Robert De Niro's wife after giving birth

Robert de Niro became a father again this year. The well-known American actor welcomed his sixth child into the world last April. Little Gia Virginia Chen-De Niro has already had three months under her belt, and she continues to grow healthy and healthy. However, it was not all good news and positivity around the birth of little Gia. And it is that as the interpreter's partner has recounted, she had significant health problems after childbirth.

Tiffany Chen has been interviewed by Gayle King on CBS's This Morning program this Thursday morning, and she has had the opportunity to tell that motherhood is not being easy for her. The 45-year-old martial arts teacher was diagnosed with a rare condition after losing all of her facial function during childbirth. It is an idiopathic peripheral facial palsy, also known as Bell's palsy (Bell's palsy) after its discoverer, Sir Charles Bell.

It is a very limited condition, with a rate of 20 cases per 100,000 people per year. This occurs when the nerve that controls the facial muscles becomes inflamed or compressed. This causes quickly detectable affectations on one side of the face. Symptoms and their severity fluctuate, but can range from mild weakness to complete paralysis, including tics. Other symptoms include jaw pain, ringing in the ears, or headache.

“My tongue felt strange, tingly and without feeling. He noticed the strange face, as if everything fell on itself. It's like it's coming undone. It was a week after giving birth when everything made sense, ”Chen explained during her interview, detailing how she could not eat or swear either. Returning to the hospital for a checkup, she once again noticed failure in his functions. It was then that the doctors at the medical center diagnosed him with paralysis.

These problems of Tiffany Chen after the birth of Gia have not been the only setback that Robert de Niro has suffered in recent months. At the beginning of July, the unexpected news broke of the death of his grandson, Leandro, at just 19 years old. His mother Drena was in charge of confirming it through her social networks. “My beautiful, sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my womb ”, he explained.

Questioned about what happened, Drena responded to one of her followers on Instagram several days later. The actor's eldest daughter confirmed that the reason for Leandro's death would have been an overdose. “Someone sold him fentanyl pills that they knew were mixed and they still sold them, so to all these people who keep fucking buying and selling this shit, my son is gone forever,” she angrily confessed.
