The presenter of 'Cuatro al Día' Fernando de la Guardia reveals that he suffers from facial paralysis

Illnesses and medical complications can surprise you when you least expect it. Keeping the body healthy, balanced and exercised helps to ward off depending on certain conditions, while in others genetics or absolute chance can cause a setback that is difficult to face. Which is why many claim that life is a lottery, in more ways than one. Unfortunately, a person of notoriety in the media must go through this path.

Fernando de la Guardia, presenter of Cuatro al Día, has announced through his social networks that he suffers from facial paralysis. The communicator of the network based in Mediaset shared through his followers about the enjoyment of life.

“I suffer from facial paralysis. The challenge now is to recover. My gratitude for their humanity to 061 (Marian and María José) as well as to the medical and nursing team at the Granada Traumatology Hospital. You are huge. I hope to look, talk and above all smile at life as always. And you know: it is not only what happens to us, but what we tell ourselves about what happens to us. My mother, before her Alzheimer's, used to recommend to me: 'Savor every moment, especially the good moments.' It is my wish for everyone,” she commented.

A multitude of figures, known and anonymous, have wished him a speedy recovery. “Good luck, Fernando. A big hug,” wrote journalist Jesús Cintora. “Dear Fernando, you will see how soon you will recover and this situation you are experiencing will only be an experience from which you learn and from which you will emerge a better person and a better professional. “A big hug, friend,” the writer José Luis Martín Ovejero told him.

“I admire your strength. You are very used to fighting, no one gave you anything and you have always brought out the best in yourself in the most difficult moments. Now more than ever, captain, let's fight. I have no doubt that we will smile at each other again. A hug,” read another response. “Good luck, Fernando. You will get over the hump. Trust those who love you and care for you. A hug!”, stated another of the comments, full of encouragement and positivity.

“Fernando, man, you'll see how that's nothing. Things almost always happen for a reason and maybe you needed to rest. You've been giving it your all for many years. Stop for a bit and rest while you recover. When you come back, you will come back stronger and more successful. You will see. I will see it,” commented journalist Lorenzo Canales.
