The infallible trick to stop flies from bothering you in summer

Flies are insects that, although harmless, can be extremely annoying. Especially now that summer is upon us and no one wants one landing on their face or buzzing around you while you dine with your friends on the porch. Luckily, there are several solutions available to everyone that will allow you to ventilate your home with the peace of mind that these animals will not bother you during your leisure time and rest at home.

These are glued paper strips already available in many supermarkets and hardware stores. The tapes come packaged in tubes, designed to be hung from the ceiling, a fan or a lamp in any room where you want to eliminate the presence of flies. You can also unroll these tubes outdoors, such as on your balcony railing.

These strips contain a non-toxic attractant that attracts the fly until it sticks. With this clean and practical system you can catch up to 100 flies with each strip before replacing it. Say goodbye to annoying spray insecticides for pets and children!

In the same way, there is a homemade alternative with which you can make your own flytrap. You just have to cut a paper bag into several strips and make a small hole to hang it from one of the places that we have mentioned.

Next, pour a glass of water, another of sugar and a couple of tablespoons of honey into a container. Heat this mixture over medium heat and dip the strips in the ointment before hanging them permanently. The flies will fall exhausted immediately.

An also effective measure against flies is to water your garden or balcony with plants such as mint, rosemary, basil, lavender or eucalyptus. Flies can't stand the scent of herbs and will think twice before entering your home. You can complement this action by hanging plastic bags filled with water on the terrace. The reflection of the sun in the water will form a rainbow prism that will scare these critters away and keep them away from your home.

You can also try other catchy mixes. Pour sugar, water, and vinegar into a plastic bottleneck and place it like a funnel outside your house. The flies will be attracted by its scent and will be trapped ipso facto.

If the above was not enough, you can try the opposite effect. There are certain ingredients whose smell repels flies, such as lemon. Try dipping a few cloves into half a lemon and placing them on garden tables or windowsills. If you repeat this action every day, the flies will not dare to bother you again.
