The health reason that has separated Martín Barreiro, a meteorologist from La 1: "Trying not to fall into discouragement"

A few weeks have passed since Martín Barreiro, a classic weatherman on TVE's La 1, appeared on the screen for the last time. Since then, there are many who have wondered about his absence from television, where he appeared regularly in the two morning programs of the public channel, La hora de La 1 and Hablando claro.

The meteorologist stopped appearing on television for no apparent reason or explanation, and it was this Monday when he himself broke his silence through social networks. He has done so through a publication on his personal Instagram account, where he explains the reasons why he has been absent from the sets of Televisión Española.

"Trying not to fall into discouragement," Barreiro began by writing in his publication, to later explain the compelling reasons why he has stopped being seen on the screen. "I have a herniated disc, I have been sick for weeks and with intense pain. They tell me that I am going to have to operate," he assured, to the surprise of all his followers.

In the comments on the Instagram post, Martín Barreiro has received all kinds of support from his colleagues on TVE and other media. Silvia Laplana, also a meteorologist in the public entity, sent him "cheer up", while the journalist Euprepio Padula, a regular on television talk shows, claimed not to know about his state of health until now. "Cheer up and only have surgery if it is essential," he added.

Other public figures from different fields have also sent their messages of support to the presenter of El tiempo. "I changed hernia for a titanium disc and it was the best. The next day as new and no more pain," wrote Irene Villa. Others, like the actress Macarena Gómez ("Martínnnnnn!") or the singer Rayden ("Muchísima fuerza"), have been somewhat more concise in their spirits.

While Martín Barreiro's recovery lasts, the person in charge of making up for his absence in programs like Hablando claro is Nuria Seró. The meteorologist is already known by viewers of La 1 and now she also takes the place of the Galician in the show presented by Lourdes Maldonado and Marc Calderó.
