Mark Hamill has been in charge of fulfilling the dream of Luke Skywalker, the character he plays in the original Star Wars trilogy. The 72-year-old actor has shared on his social networks a photograph in which he appears with Natalie Portman at the 2024 Golden Globes. And he accompanies her with a celebrated message: "Now I have finally met my 'mother'."
Portman played Padmé Amidala in the prequel trilogy. This character is the mother of twins Leia and Luke Skywalker, the latter played by Hamill. However, mother and son never met, because she died while giving birth.
At most, Padmé and Luke crossed paths while filming, but not even that. That moment didn't come on the big screen either. It has taken decades for these two characters to meet, even at the 2024 Golden Globes celebration.
