Cándido Conde-Pumpido can breathe easier. The Investigative Court No. 31 of Madrid has decided to archive the complaint that Aline, a young Brazilian woman, had filed against the son of the president of the Constitutional Court for an alleged sexual assault.
With this, the judge shelves the case that has kept the lawyer hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic after a "collapse of his mental health." The complaint included an alleged group rape in which three other men had participated, according to the woman. However, their contradictions have ended up closing the case.
Shortly after filing the complaint, it was Aline herself who decided to withdraw it, alleging that she did not remember well what happened due to being under the influence of alcohol. Still, the investigation continued. Now, the judge has dismissed the accusations due to the inconsistencies in the various versions of the Brazilian and has emphasized the lack of injuries on the part of the complainant.
The EFE agency has revealed this news, which comes directly from sources at the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid, and has assured that the judge's decision is in accordance with the report of the Prosecutor's Office.
And the images from the security cameras, provided by Cándido Conde-Pumpido, completely distorted the complainant's version. After this, the lawyer and the other three men were released without precautionary measures.
After this judicial framework, Aline's hidden past reached the press. The Brazilian has dozens of cases opened in her country for various crimes. But, without a doubt, the most striking is an attempted homicide, for which she is in provisional prison waiting to be repatriated to Brazil.
Less than a month ago, Aline was arrested by the Civil Guard in Malaga, where she settled after the controversy with the lawyer, due to the search and arrest warrant that was placed on her. The young woman had been pursued by the justice system since March 2022 for trying to kill a man with whom she had sexual relations, as revealed by the program En boca de todos.
"Aline is in a very complicated situation. She may regret the development of events in recent months," said the young woman's lawyer in Spain. "She comes to consider that the fact that this request for surrender to the Brazilian authorities has been activated means that she has a direct connection, not her legal team. She does understand it as such," she added.
