The iconic staircase of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has once again dressed in glamor for the celebration of the most anticipated gala of the year. The carpet for this edition has been dyed white, blue and red to pay a beautiful tribute to the figure of Karl Lagerfeld, who died in February 2019.
One of the guests who has dazzled at the Met Gala has been Nicole Kidman, who has had a beautiful gesture with which she was one of her leading designers. The Australian, accompanied by her husband Keith Urban, has recovered from her wardrobe a design that the fashion kaiser created expressly for her and that many will find familiar.
"Running to the Met," Kidman wrote a few hours after the gala was held on Instagram, where she gave a key clue to her stylistic choice. The actress wanted to pay homage to Lagerfeld with the dress she wore almost twenty years ago in the Chanel No. 5 perfume ad. In this advertising short, directed by Baz Luhrmann, Nicole played a Hollywood star running away from the paparazzi in the middle of Times Square, a moment that Kidman showed on the social network.
Just a few hours later, the protagonist of Moulin Rouge appeared at the gala in the spectacular dress made of powdery pink silk tulle, with a four-meter train, which she wore in the ad.
In addition to the impressive skirt with more than 250 ostrich feathers, this Lagerfeld creation also had more than 3,000 silver crystals and sequins that added the special touch to her look.
"I remember his laugh, when he sketched the dress for the first time and gave me the sketch. He always made me laugh. He designed several dresses for me, but I think this is the most spectacular (…) When Karl designed, he always liked to see me in pink pale", Nicole pointed out a few years ago in an interview with Vogue magazine.
Kidman has completed her outfit with black sandals with an ankle bracelet and a black bow with which she tied up part of her hair, which she wore loose and with soft waves. As for makeup, he has opted for naturalness, with juicy skin with rosy cheeks and soft eyeliner to highlight his look.
