Shakira doesn't mince words. After months of speculation, the Colombian has clarified one of the most popular rumors of 2023: that she discovered the infidelity of her husband, Gerard Piqué, thanks to a jar of jam.
The singer faced this question in her last interview with The Sunday Times, where she was asked if the infidelity had been exposed over a jar of jam: "It's not true," said Shakira, who ended their romance in June 2022.
Shakira and Piqué, parents of Milan (11 years old) and Sasha (9 years old), divorced after 11 years together, becoming a trending topic for months, since the former soccer player began dating Clara Chía. That's when the story of jam came to light.
Apparently, the singer arrived at her home together with Piqué after a time away from home due to her tour. It was then that Shakira realized that the jar of jam they had had run out, even though neither Gerard nor his children liked this typical food.
In an interview for This Morning, the Colombian was asked about the story behind the video clip for "Te felicito" with Rauw Alejandro, in which the reggaeton player's head is in the refrigerator. "Say what you were looking for," journalist Alison Hammond asked, to which Shak responded: "I was going to the fridge to find the truth."
The Colombian closes this chapter with a very personal reflection: "For a long time I put my career on hold to be by Gerard's side so he could play football," she told The Sunday Times. "There was a lot of sacrifice for love."
