Sargadelos, Lladró, Talavera... The most decorative pottery is the traditional one

Ceramics is a form of art and craft that has a history of more than 6,000 years old in our country. Brutal, fine, practical or sensual: primitive clay brings a singular beauty to everyday objects that is difficult to achieve with contemporary materials. The exclusive and original air of these pieces has managed to consecrate the great houses of ceramists, each one with its seal, capable of seducing both the wealthy classes and the common people throughout the centuries.

Nowadays, handmade ceramics are an accessible and quality resource that regains prominence when decorating your home. Below, we compile the brands that offer striking traditional ceramic objects, without which any room will seem empty.

This ceramic has its origin in the Royal Factory of Sargadelos, founded in 1806 by Antonio Raimundo Ibáñez in Santalla de Oscos (Asturias). For decades, it supplied decorative pieces to royal houses until its production was established in Galicia at the beginning of the 20th century.

Precisely, the motifs inspired by the Galician Romanesque and Baroque have become its hallmark. Geometric shapes, shells and white and blue patterns make unmistakable figures, vases and tea sets.

Lladró is synonymous with elegance and daring. He designs sumptuous fine porcelain sculptures and candles and diffusers that are as practical as they are discreet. All the products of this internationally renowned brand are made in its Tabernes Blanques factory, in Valencia. This 2023 it celebrates its seventy years of activity in the sector.

The taste for details and the use of pastel colors are the grace of Lladró's meticulous and sophisticated pieces. His extensive catalog includes gifts, modern figures (often collectible) and lamps as original as the one in the image. Tradition and avant-garde come together to give life to the rooms in your home! And there is a Lladró figure for every taste.

The Talavera Ceramic Center is a workshop whose works are inspired by the centuries-old crafts of the Toledo town, which became one of the largest ceramic production centers in the country. Nowadays they make quite inexpensive pieces.

Its promoters have designed new jars, bowls and chests based on traditional motifs, loaded with curves and fantasies and always splashed with white, yellow and blue. The skulls have become one of its hallmarks.
