RTVE reveals if it will broadcast the children's version of the 'Grand Prix' again

After more than 18 years since its last program was broadcast, the Grand Prix is about to return to the screens of Televisión Española. One of the most mythical spaces of the public channel returns this summer, becoming one of the most anticipated returns by all viewers.

The summer program will continue to have the same dynamics as its predecessor, in which two towns in Spanish territory will face each other in the funniest and most risky events on television. Ramón García will once again be in charge of the contest, accompanied on this occasion by the streamer Cristinini and the actress Michelle Calvó.

One of the big changes the show has undergone from eighteen years ago is the heifer. On this occasion he will not be present, due to the new Animal Protection Law prohibiting having live animals on television sets.

To make up for this notorious absence, the program has chosen to have a very different "super heifer." A person from the team will dress up and his only objective, as a wildcard for the different teams, will be to annoy his rivals.

After this renewed version, which is about to premiere on the Spanish Television grid, many may wonder if the children's version of the program called Peque Prix will also do so at some point. And although for some it is a totally unknown concept, the truth is that this children's version, which faced different schools in Spanish territory, was broadcast on the public channel between 1998 and 2000.

In addition, many users of social networks have stressed that the composer of the main theme of the contest has published the tune of the children's version. One more reason that has set off the alarms of another possible return. And it would not be so strange, since several television programs today also have their own versions for the little ones, such as Masterchef.

But thanks to the FormulaTV portal we have been able to see first-hand what the true intentions of Radio Televisión Española are with respect to this format. Ana María Bordás, content director of RTVE, has confirmed to FormulaTV that for the moment the public channel does not plan to record a version with children.
