Richard Gere and his family plan to move to Madrid

Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva visit our country very often. The couple has been seen on several occasions in Madrid, at awards ceremonies or charity events. And it is common for a good part of the summer to be with the family in Galicia. But the visits of the actor and his family could stop being sporadic, because the American would be planning to move to the capital, according to the magazine Hello!

Gere and Silva have visited a renowned international school and several properties in an exclusive urbanization accompanied by a real estate agent. These houses would be very close to the educational center, which could indicate that the couple would be interested in buying a house where they could spend a limited period of time or perhaps thinking of a longer term.

Until now, the Hollywood star and the Galician resided in the 21-hectare ranch that the actor acquired in 1986 in Pound Ridge, 80 kilometers from New York. But, recently, they packed their bags to move into a mansion in New Canaan, which belonged to singer-songwriter Paul Simon, with 820 square meters, six rooms and a thirteen-hectare lot.

The couple lead a quiet life in New Canaan, away from the bustle of the Big Apple. According to this medium, there they enjoy their free time among horses, orchards and an idyllic private lake. An oasis that could be exchanged for Madrid.

Gere and Silva met in 2014. It was in Positano, on the Amalfi coast (Italy), at the exclusive Hotel Ville Treville, which she ran at the time. They got married in 2018. Before their marriage, the actor was the father of Homer (23 years old). She was also the mother of Albert (11 years old). They have several children together. The first, Alexander, who was born in 2019. Later, another child came into their lives, whose name has not been disclosed.

Beyond their visits to Spain, it is common to see the couple in Mexico. There, they have just fulfilled one of their dreams, opening a luxury sustainable residential complex in an exclusive 1,200-hectare paradise called Xala, located on the Costalegre of Jalisco. In total, eight kilometers of white sand beaches, two freshwater estuaries protected by UNESCO and a mango plantation of 180 hectares.
