To date, more than 180 contestants have passed through Operación Triunfo in 22 years of history. Some of them have gone down in the history of music in Spain. Names, mainly, from the first generations, such as David Bisbal, Chenoa, Beth Rodergas, Edurne, Manuel Carrasco or Mai Meneses, from Nena Daconte. However, the most recent editions have also left their mark on the Spanish music scene, such as Raoul Vázquez.

Unfortunately, the singer from Montgat has been the protagonist of a sad event this Thursday afternoon. The former OT 2017 contestant shared a story with his followers on Instagram on an ambulance stretcher, immobilized and with his arm in a sling. The video was not accompanied by an explanation, and it was not until half an hour later that the artist confirmed what happened: he had been hit by a car.

“I'm in the hospital because a car took me away and I broke my collarbone,” indicated the Catalan already in the medical center. Minutes later, he had time to make a live broadcast, which was quickly interrupted. In the few seconds that he has been on the air with his followers, he has indicated that it was a traffic accident, since he was riding his motorcycle before the incident occurred.

The image of Raoul in the ambulance and the hospital has spread quickly through other social networks such as X (Twitter), where they have left him messages of support and wishes for a speedy recovery. “Ostia, he hopes it's nothing serious and he can get out of this,” said one user. “I just saw about Raoul… Jo, poor thing, too bad, I hope you recover soon and I send you a huge hug and a lot of encouragement,” said another of the responses.

“Oh, Raoul. I hope you get well soon. A hug and a huge bikini,” noted another comment. Dozens of expressions of affection for a figure who made headlines last June, reacting to one of his most complicated moments at the Operación Triunfo academy. Four years before confirming that he had “no interest in being polite or heterosexual,” the 2017 pageant teachers suggested a kiss with Agoney.

The idea arose to complement their joint interpretation of the song Manos Vacías, and thus make visible the struggle of many people within the LGTBIQ collective. The one from Montgat felt trapped in a conflict: “The week of the kiss was the worst of my life and the first time I had anxiety. It was the worst moment of my life because I felt like I owed my family respect. “I wasn’t prepared to do what I did, even though I wanted to do it.”
