A few days ago, the gossip magazine HELLO! published an interview with presenter Patricia Pérez in which the communicator opened up on the channel about a very delicate topic for her family: the health of her husband Luis Canut.
Pérez explained that Canut suffered cryptococcal meningitis that has left him with serious consequences and shared that they went through a very delicate process until they found the correct diagnosis: ''We were going back and forth to the emergency room for nine days.''
This morning, the legendary presenter of The Great Goose Game sat down at Espejo Público to share with viewers the ordeal they have suffered in recent months. Pérez has explained that the yeast that caused her husband's illness is found in many places: "The yeast can be lethal, it goes through phases and enters through the nose, settles in the lung or other organs but where it likes the most. "It is in the brain and is difficult to diagnose (...) It grows, among other places, among the dry feces of pigeons and you don't have to get infected but if you are sick you can inhale it. If you are in a park."
The woman has also shared that, after a long rehabilitation process, her husband has improved, but that he has lost the vision in one eye, the sense of taste and smell, short-term memory, etc.: "Now he is well, although it is not the same person.
Pérez has left Susanna Griso and Gema López speechless with his testimony: ''I never treated him like a sick person, I fed him, cleaned him, made his bed, he felt the touch.'' In total, the man spent more than 4 and a half months in the hospital.
Canut left the medical clinic before the summer in a wheelchair because he had lost weight to 52 kilos: "He left the hospital before the summer, in September he had an MRI and he is as they expected him to be. The doctors were happy." Pérez has also made it clear that the doctors ask for patience and has expressed that he fully trusts that everything will improve.
Finally, the nutrition expert wanted to thank the millions of messages of support she has received and clarified that her husband is a strong man: ''Luis is a happy and vital person and it is lucky that he has lost his short-term memory It's that he has lost his memory of the hospital. He can't do certain things. He is still as handsome as ever and he will be speaking shortly. Now it's him. Luis will be looking at me and will say 'why are you crying?''
