Pablo Motos speaks out about the amnesty: “I had never felt ashamed of being Spanish. If I travel abroad I will say that I am European”

Pablo Motos has once again set social networks on fire with one of his political speeches. The legendary presenter of El Hormiguero spoke yesterday on his program about the tense situation that the country is experiencing when it comes to forming a government and about the series of concessions that President Pedro Sánchez is making to the Catalan parties to have their support for the time of the investiture.

The Antena 3 communicator does not agree at all with the agreement reached by the PSOE and ERC. This deal was closed last Thursday and includes some controversial points: the transfer of the Rodalíes, the amnesty law and the forgiveness of more than 14,000 million euros of debt of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

After talking a little about the subject and introducing the issue to the audience, Motos expressed his open opinion in the entertainment program: ''I can tell you that I have been in the media all my life, which has been a few years now, and I had never felt ashamed of being Spanish. It never happened to me. Probably now if I travel around and they tell me 'where are you from' I will say 'European'. Because I don't want to say I'm Spanish, a place where there seem to be political prisoners, therefore, it is not a free place.''

Faced with these words, Juan del Val added that he totally agreed and that everything was based on a fallacy: ''What happens is that this is a lie. There have never been political prisoners. And look, I believe that this is solved with compliance with the laws, and whoever commits crimes has to pay for them. This is how it works."

Another who also does not agree at all with the political pact is Cristina Pardo, who defended that it is a question of equality and that a fundamental right is being violated here: ''This pact seems very unequal to me. "We are not equal in rights, we are not equal in duties, we are not equal when it comes to facing our debts and, therefore, it surprises me that socialism goes against one of its founding principles."

The presenter of the program La Roca did not hesitate and made it clear that, for her, there had been no negotiations, but that it was "blackmail." After hearing Nuria Roca's opinion, Motos wanted to point out that the PSOE has stated that there will also be concessions on the part of Puigdemont, something that he does not believe: ''He might cut his bangs anyway.''

The speech of the different talk shows has caused a massive response of messages on social networks and platforms, since thousands of people share their thoughts and many others believe that it is not the type of program in which such an issue should be debated.
