The Trops Cueva de Nerja is in mourning. Through its Facebook profile, the athletics club has shared totally unexpected news, the death of Celia Bellicurt, a 22-year-old girl.
The athlete, a native of the Granada town of Almuñécar and forged on the Nerja track, died this Thursday after suffering an accident with a quad in Arenas del Rey, thus shocking the residents of the municipality.
"One of our own, Celia Bellicurt, has gone. Today we are completely devastated, we cannot fit into our sadness and helplessness after having received this tragic news, our sexitan athlete has said goodbye to us too soon" writes the club where the young woman militated in a heartfelt message of condolence.
"We will always remember you with that magnificent smile, with your energy full of positivism and good words for everyone, today the Nerja Athletics Club has lost one of its own, rest in peace dear Celia. There are no goodbyes, wherever you are, You will be in our hearts," concludes the text from the club, which already has countless messages of support for the family of the deceased.
As detailed by the newspaper El Ideal, the young woman was traveling on a quad with a man who was injured. The vehicle fell into a ravine in the Granada municipality of Arenas del Rey.
Before 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, telephone number 112 received a call from a witness who had seen a couple in a crevice in the Las Rajas ravine. Likewise, the whistleblower indicated that the man involved in the accident had told him that everything had happened the day before. Finally, firefighters rescued the injured man, evacuating him by helicopter to Granada.
