Meghan Markle and the Kardashian clan, united by a jar of jam

Meghan Markle can now add the names of the very famous Kardashian-Jenner family to her list of friends. The relationship between the Duchess of Sussex and the television clan was confirmed with a peculiar detail, which no one would have noticed if it had not been for her matriarch, Kris Jenner, who made it public on her Instagram Stories.

Specifically, an innocent jar of strawberry jam. Jenner shared with her more than 52 million followers through her social network profile that they had given her some samples of the handmade candy. But of course, it wasn't just any jam, but from American Riviera Orchard, Meghan Markle's new company.

Jenner shared an image of the rustic jam jar, artistically placed in what appeared to be the pot of a lemon plant. "Thank you, American Riviera Orchard," wrote the matriarch of the Kardashian clan, along with two emojis, one of a yellow heart and the other of a lemon.

But what was the reason for the Duchess of Sussex's gift to Kris Jenner? The mother of the famous Kardashian-Jenner sisters was going to be one of the first to try the sweets produced by the Duchess of Sussex's company, but... where does their friendship come from?

Kris Jenner and Meghan Markle have not been photographed together, but the television matriarch and Doria Ragland, the mother of Prince Harry's wife, have been, who in recent years seems to have begun to be part of Kris Jenner's circle of friends. In August 2023, Jenner and Kim Kardashian were photographed, very friendly, at the This Is About Humanity gala in Los Angeles.

As far as was known, Doria Ragland resided in Park-Windsor Hills, California, in a house she inherited from her father in 2011. However, when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved to Montecito, Meghan Markle's mother moved in with them and his two children, Archie (4) and Lilibet (2), as reported by The Daily Express.

Since then, Doria Ragland's paths have crossed those of Kris Jenner on numerous occasions. The Kardashian family lives in Calabasas, about a two-hour drive away; perhaps separated for day-to-day contact, but very united on social issues.

Jams are the latest product launched by the Duchess of Sussex, but this new business adventure begins with some controversy, and with no less than her in-laws. Why, last Wednesday, Buckingham Palace's gift shop accidentally presented its own strawberry jam, just days after the Duchess launched hers.

Obviously, the coincidence did not go unnoticed among social media users, who did not hesitate to comment on the Palace's gesture and the new venture of Prince Henry's wife.

Whether it was the result of chance or a perfectly calculated move by Palacio's marketing department, only they know.
