José Coronado defends himself against criticism that accuses him of being ''sexist'': ''I'm not going to be careful''

José Coronado is one of the most acclaimed artists in our country. After more than three decades in the spotlight and on stage, the actor from the series Entrevías continues to be one of the favorites of the general public.

However, Coronado has also been the protagonist of some controversies. A few days ago, the man from Madrid set social networks on fire with statements that many labeled as ''machist,'' sexist'' and ''misogynistic''.

"Neither Montero, nor Rubiales. As I told you before, I am a rebel, and I am a rebel against the Rubiales and the Irenes Monteros, I want to continue having my own opinion and I am not going to allow anyone to make me take communion with millstones. ( ...) I want to be able to let a woman pass in front of me, I want to give way to her without anyone calling me an aggressor, or saying whatever they want about me! Macho... But, forgive me, I don't think that's what it is ", he declared in an interview for the media El Español.

After three weeks of headlines and controversy, the Spanish actor went to TardeAR, the afternoon show presented by Ana Rosa Quintana on Telecinco to promote his series and take stock of his career.

After talking about other topics, Quintana asked him about the hundreds of comments he had been receiving in recent days. "Lately some of your statements have come out, by the way with which I very much agree...", said the communicator before telling him to be "careful" with what he was going to say, since the social reaction to his words It could upset you.

''I'm not going to be careful, Ana Rosa. Generally everything is taken out of context (...) Everything done with education and respect is viable. And that's how I have functioned my entire life and I have never had a problem with a woman or anyone, because I always maintain education and respect. "Why are you going to stop living life with more joy?" declared the artist.

After listening attentively to his guest, Quintana reflected before the audience and shared his point of view: "You tell a woman that she is beautiful and you look at her as intensely as you are doing, that I am already getting dizzy, in the eyes and she is fatal. That's what the minister says, I think it's wonderful that a man looks you in the eyes and tells you that you're pretty."

To settle the issue, Coronado wanted to emphasize that everything depends on the respect with which you treat the human being in front of you: "Since I was a child I was taught to be polite and respect people and that is the only thing I want to continue doing, being free and being able to say what I think."
