The journalist Iñaki López and his wife, also a journalist Andrea Ropero, have denounced having been subjected to insults by a group of bullfighting fans in the vicinity of the Vista Alegre bullring in Bilbao.
This event, which has been described by López as an act of intolerance and political prejudice, has taken place at the end of a bullfight. The situation highlights the tension that exists in Spain due to the polarization of politics.
The events occurred when the couple, who had been near the bullring, was approached by a group that had been leaving the bullfighting area. The individuals had insulted López and Ropero with derogatory phrases such as "shitty reds," alluding to their left-wing political leanings.
The conflict has not escalated further, partly thanks to Ropero's reaction. The journalist, without wanting to go into disqualifications, has responded by throwing a mischievous kiss and a friendly wink, in an attempt to defuse the situation and avoid any possible more important conflict. Although, on the other hand, she could also have been taken as another provocation.
The presenter of LaSexta has reported on this altercation on his Twitter account, where he has tried to take it with humor using a gif to stage the scene. Roper, also with some sarcasm, has answered with an eloquent "Gensanta!".
The two communicators have not taken long to receive the support of their followers, who have valued Ropero's education, assuring that they would have "shown the middle finger" or would have become more brave in the face of insults.
