Guide To Play Roulette And Its Different Types Of Bets

Roulette is easily one of the most played online and physical casino games around the world, loved by many for its thrill win possibilities. Actually, it is a game that doesn’t accommodate skills, strategies or tactics, therefore it’s a game of chance. There’s really nothing specific you can do to increase your chances of a win or sorts. However, you need to know the basic rules nonetheless to play.

What is roulette?

Roulette is a game of chance that can be played online or physically at any casino in the world. Yes, the game is so popular that it’s one of the first things casinos offer to players as soon as they launch. Taking a first glance at the game, it features a board with wheels and a bunch of random numbers and sectioning that makes it look somewhat tedious to the amateur, however, it’s not that difficult. The objective of the game is pretty straightforward, players are to bet on the number or group of numbers that the ball would land on.

At this point, the odds at stake depends on the house and likeliness of winning, as some bets have higher odds than others. Odds vary from casino to casino and could be controlled by the rules used. This article would help you know everything about roulette to get off to a good start.

How to play roulette?

The game of roulette is played using a board and a spinning roulette wheel, hence the name roulette. The board is partitioned around the edges and also numbered too. During play, the croupier spins the roulette wheel in one direction and spins the ball opposite to the wheel. Basically, the idea is that as the ball rolls opposite to the spinning roulette, it would eventually lose momentum and end up falling on one of the partitions of the ball. On achieving a steady-state, anyone who bet on the number the ball falls on, wins.

After someone wins the game, the croupier takes time to dish out winnings and reset the table. After this, he or she spins the ball back for another game, and the cycle keeps going. Before the game starts, all players are allowed to bet by placing casino chips or cash on the section of the table that indicates the bet you’d like to mate. After the croupier announces “no more bets,” the table closes and no changes can be made.

The roulette table contains numbers 0–36, which are colored in alternating red and black, and number zero having the green. There are tables with more than one zero, and the more zeros your table has, the worse your odds are.

What are the types of bets in roulette?

There are basically two types of bets in roulette:

Inside Bets

Inside bets involve betting on a straight-up single number like 3. It has a square that covers 4 numbers on the board. The first 4 numbers on the inside bet layout are numbers 0,1,2,3.

Outside Bets

The outside bets involve betting on a group of numbers like 1 to 20 inclusive, for example. Bets are placed on even or odd numbers, or a dozen-wise (1–12). If your table has a triple zero, you are also allowed to bet on Green (betting on all zeros).
