From the beginning to the end, the gala of the first semi-final of Benidorm Fest 2024 has been endless surprises. Until the very beginning of the event, many remained cautious about the change of presenters, especially due to the growing rumors that Inés Hernand, former host of the festival, would also appear in some way during the night.
That's how it went. As soon as she stepped on stage, the audience received her with loud applause. "As a current philosopher, Bad Gyal, and with permission from Nebulossa, would say: I'm back, bitches!" She shouted, in front of Ruth Lorenzo Marc Calderó and Ana Prada, hosts this year. Precisely with Prada, in addition, she starred in a fun pique at the end of the gala that remains to be remembered.
The presenter and comedian reappeared again almost at the end of the gala, this time alone with Marc Calderó and Ruth Lorenzo. Hernand took the opportunity to announce the program that was going to be broadcast after the semi-final, La Noche del Benidorm Fest, which she herself was going to present accompanied by Aitor Arbizúa, to talk about the ins and outs and what she experienced in that first semi-final.
Now, the Madrid comedian also took the opportunity to show off her humor. Just at the end of the promotion of the space, Hernand was about to announce the votes of the viewers, but she was interrupted by Ana Prada - her replacement this year as presenter of the gala - appeared running. "Oh, how you weren't there," Hernand told him. "No, yes it was," her partner responded.
"Let's see... Have you seen the movie Showgirls?" Hernand asks. In response to Prada's refusal, the comedian shares a quote, which refers to her status as a "substitute" for her: "Be careful because you don't know if there is someone hungry behind you on the stairs." The audience's laughter was immediate, but Ana Prada had a quick response: "Don't worry, darling. I'm more of an elevator guy."
Prada was quick to "calm" the festival's spectators, ensuring that there was no type of "eurodrama", and told Hernand: "Don't worry, because I have plenty of stairs here in the green room," adding, while looking at Marc and Lorena: "If you want, we can get behind them and you and I will stay, dear."
Hernand applauded his substitute's enthusiasm, in the face of the incredulous and amused gestures of his other two teammates. "That's how I like it, stomping," he encouraged her, before leaving. An appearance that delighted the spectators, while they applauded the professionalism that his replacement showed throughout the evening.
