The night of August 25, 2023 became a nightmare for María del Monte and Inmaculada Casal. It was then that his mansion in Gines, in the province of Seville, was attacked by a group of hooded men, with the intention of stealing his safe. The news was one of those that obtained the greatest media coverage by the Spanish social chronicle in 2023, and multiplied exponentially after the arrest of Antonio Tejado.
The involvement of the singer's nephew in the case, allegedly providing information such as the location of the safe in the head room, was the focus of the statement that both made before the judge. On Fridays!, the Telecinco program presented by Beatriz Archidona and Santi Acosa, has been able to have exclusive access to the court dates of the three involved.
“That night around 4:30 in the house there was a noise that I didn't hear. It wakes me up to see Inmaculada trying to get someone out and shouting 'what is she doing, what is she doing?'” she del Monte began. “I hear like a bookshelf from that front is falling. Boom! I say 'what are you doing? She leaves the girl and running she grabs me by her arms, she takes me and lays me on the bed and she tells me 'this is a robbery,'" continued Casal, who was immobilized.
“He puts the pillow over my head and tells me 'you stay there.' Then she starts pressuring me. By the time she took her hands off me, I was able to breathe calmly,” the journalist expressed. They detected María del Monte afterwards, while she was trying to ask for help: “They sat me down on the bed. A panic, a tachycardia, my heart was coming out of my mouth. I ask one of those people if I can drink water because I don't feel well and she tells me yes and gives it to me.
“They can't open the box, I'm starting to notice that they are getting more nervous. The girl has locked the box, she heard it. That's where I'm starting to feel panic. I get up as best I could. I take the key to the safe, hand it to him and give him the combination. There is someone who comes to me and tells me: 'You have three minutes to open the safe or I will take the girl and kill her,'" the artist said, in response to the failed attempts of Inmaculada's 34-year-old daughter.
“I couldn't open the box because of the tension. I had two behind me telling me: 'Open the box.' I asked them to leave because otherwise I wouldn't be able to open the box. When I open it, this man places a kind of sports bag on the floor. When you release it it sounds like metallic things. When I opened the box, the only thing I thought was: 'What now?'” he finished questioning himself. The treatment with Casal's daughter, whom he only called 'the girl' in his inner circle, and the fact that they did not touch any other objects in the house raised suspicions.
