Fernando Sánchez Dragó already rests underground in Soria, in the holy field of Castilfrío de la Sierra, the town where he was born and where he returned a few years ago.

The writer died of a heart attack on Monday morning at the age of 86, just 11 minutes after posting a photo on his Twitter with his cat Nano on his head: "Cat Nano says good morning to me. He knows that in the head is the secret of almost everything".

At the funeral, officiated this Tuesday afternoon, in the church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, his family, friends, neighbors and writers have come to say their last goodbye to Sánchez Dragó.

There were their four children: Alejandro (62), Ayanta (54), Aixa (41) and Akela (10). The little boy was very affected by the loss of his father and was comforted by his mother, the Japanese Naoko, the writer's third wife.

She was also very heartbroken and had to be helped to walk, Emma Nogueiro (29), her partner since 2017, and who was with Fernando Sánchez Dragó, at the time of his death.

As was the writer's wish, the women of his life have attended his funeral, because apart from Emma Nogueiro and Naoko, Beatriz Salama, mother of Alejandro, his eldest son, Martine Sáiz Pee, mother of Aixa, and the journalist and deputy Anna Grau, who was Sánchez Dragó's partner before Nogueiro. Caterina Barilli, mother of her daughter Ayanta, died of cancer when the little girl was barely 10 years old.

In the funeral procession the actress Aitana Sánchez Gijón and the writer Javier Sierra have also been seen. In recent years Fernando Sánchez Dragó has been very close to the political ideas of Vox, which is why Santiago Abascal, leader of the group, and Ramón Tamames have been present at the funeral, and Ramón Tamames, who has confessed that the news of his death has been like a strong blow to the head that has left him stunned, since the economist and the writer had known each other since 1956.
