Do you remember the animated 'The X Patrol'? Returns to Disney with 'X-Men '97'

Professor Xavier dies. This is possibly the first news that can be commented on X-Men '97, the new Marvel series for Disney. The other is that, as we enter the last decade of the 20th century, those responsible are clear about their mission: to embrace retro in animation and even in the way of presenting the series in society with the image treatment of the trailer.

X-Men '97 goes back in time to narrate the challenge of the X-Men who, after the death of their mentor, must face a world that hates them but that they have sworn to protect to honor Xavier's memory. “We must believe in each other,” asks one of the voices in the trailer, where you can see the characters that will be recovered from Marvel comics: Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Gambit, Storm, Rogue or Wolverine among others.

The idea is that it serves as a sequel or reboot of the animated series broadcast between 1992 and 1997 and which was launched in Spain as Patrol , just like Batman: The animated series.

Behind the project is a man who already knows what it's like to work for Marvel Studios: Beau DeMayo, who signed two episodes of Moon Knight, the miniseries with Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke. His work in The Witcher franchise also stands out in his career, with scripts written in both The Witcher and The Witcher: The Wolf's Nightmare, and his last project aired was Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

The first season, which will be available on Disney on March 20, will have 10 episodes and attention to its promotional poster:
