David Valldeperas, forceful against the leadership of Mediaset for how they announced the termination of 'Sálvame': ''It was a lack of respect''

The end of Sálvame caught the program's producers, its workers and the audience by surprise. In mid-May, the newspaper El Mundo exclusively published that Telecinco was putting an end to "trash television" and that the program presented by Jorge Javier Vázquez would come to an end after 14 years of uninterrupted broadcasting and leadership in audience.

As explained in the article, the new leaders of Mediaset España canceled the space dedicated to the gossip press with the idea of creating a ''whiter and more family-friendly television''. In an attempt to 'play it safe' and try to maintain the good data of the format in which Belén Esteban or Lydia Lozano participated, the leadership decided to give an afternoon magazine show to Ana Rosa Quintana: TardeAR.

The news of the cancellation left the entire technical team and workers of Sálvame very sad, since they did not expect it to come to an end so soon. Although things were not done well and many people were angry with the heads of the communication group, the program was dedicated to giving the best possible ending to the format to say goodbye through the big door.

In an interview on the Querido Hater program, the director of the space of the heart David Valldeperas has given his open opinion on how they really experienced the termination: ''It was a lack of respect. But not to the team, but to the entire program, to everyone (...) The fact is the fact, there is a change in editorial line, the network wants to go the other way and... you are left out.''

Far from being happy with Valldeperas' response, Malbert, the show's presenter, asked him about an event they held weeks before and if it was true that the bosses told them not to pay attention to the rumours. ''It was a coup d'état. That was the planned roadmap, but it was a coup d'état and they executed it (...) The end of Sálvame responds to a change in editorial line. Sálvame did not meet the expectations of the new management, they did not want an uncomfortable or hooligan program... '', he said in space.

The digital creator took advantage of the moment to ask the director if he knew that the newspaper El Mundo had been forced to put the word 'trash television' in the headline announcing the end of the program and what he thought. ''There was interest and discredit. If you are going to destroy the program, one of the most watched programs of the moment and with the trajectory it had... you have to justify something else,'' he stated.

Finally, Valldeperas concluded that they had endured many things in the Telecinco space (schedule changes, making an hour for MiTele Plus, etc.) and that there were clearly people who really wanted to eradicate the program.
