Daniel Sancho's interpreter: "Daniel is not sorry, that is why he has not asked for forgiveness"

The crime of Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta in Thailand was one of the most talked about news stories in the media throughout 2023. The arrest of Daniel Sancho after confessing to having dismembered the victim only increased the news coverage, until reaching to the current week. It will be between this Wednesday and Thursday that both the accused and his father Rodolfo will testify before the judge.

Waiting for what may happen in the next few hours, the program And Now Sonsoles on Antena 3 has been in charge of following the latest developments in the case minute by minute, contacting all types of correspondents, sources and other people of special interest. One of them is Pichett Wirathongchai, Daniel Sancho's first interpreter during his stay in prison, who did not identify him as a murderer.

“My job is to visit a lot of people, be on a lot of criminal cases and of course, I know how to identify a murderer. Did you know? I haven't felt that when I've talked to Daniel, I haven't seen that in his eyes. I have only seen a young man, shocked, nervous, trying to explain himself. The murderer does not try to explain himself, but with him it was different,” expressed the Thai translator, supporting the version of the Spanish cook.

“In my personal opinion there is no premeditation. I'm not surprised, he did it. Daniel is a youtuber, he is a chef. He has experience because he knows how to cut meat, at that moment he panicked,” he admitted, ensuring that Sancho dismembered Arrieta. Even so, at no time has he considered him guilty of murder. Likewise, he has brought an additional dimension to his psyche regarding possible repentance.

“I think Daniel is sorry, I'm sure. He has never said sorry to the family because he thinks this man was a rapist. You have to feel it to ask for it, he doesn't feel it, that's why he hasn't said it,” he commented. Wirathongchai's is just one of the opinions that have fallen in dribs and drabs in the last few hours, waiting for both Daniel and Rodolfo to declare in the next two days. Another reaction that has made headlines has been that of Frank Cuesta.

“There are only two options: death penalty or life imprisonment. If you are touching the balls and they give you a life sentence, you are very lucky. You're going to get the death penalty, for sure. Every year the King commutes that death sentence, but maybe he doesn't do it the first year or he doesn't do it the second. You eat two more years in prison. The kid is on trial because he dismembered and killed another person,” he expressed in a TikTok video.
