The trial against Dani Alves after being accused of sexual assault has been heard for sentencing. The alleged victim reported the footballer after claiming to have suffered a rape by him in a well-known nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022. A version that he has defended from the beginning to the end and that has kept the player in provisional prison since so.
Now, the three members of the court have to review all the evidence provided and the statements in order to make a decision that, presumably, will be given before Easter. Even so, and despite the fact that the three days passed without apparent problems, the controversy is served by the player's mother, who claims she has not been able to see her son.
Lucía Alves has been very present in the Spanish press for her statements and actions in recent months. The player's mother leaked the identity of her son's complainant on her social networks. Something that can have consequences for having skipped the court's decision to keep the alleged victim private.
In addition, he has published a video denouncing not having been able to see his son during the trial. "It has been three very difficult days, it has not been easy, but I continue to trust in God, in the innocence of my son and in justice," she began to relate.
But, without a doubt, "the most difficult thing" for her has been not being able to hug her son. "I have not been able to speak with him and during these three days I have been seeing him several times, interacting with me, with gestures of affection, some kisses... then I have seen my son, but I have not been able to be with him," he stated. Something that she does not wish "on any mother in the world."
At the same time, he has revealed what Alves is like as a son and as a person. "He is a loyal man. My son began to have the responsibilities of an adult at the age of 16. He is the kind of man who opens the car door for women...", he expressed.
And if there is something that caught everyone's attention during the last day of the trial, it was the meeting between Joana Sanz and the soccer player's mother. Something he has not hesitated to talk about: "It was very nice, very special." According to her confession, they had not seen each other for "about five years" when Lucía traveled to Barcelona to visit her son and her wife.
