Fifth day of the San Fermín festivities and everything continues its course in Pamplona. The most recent of the confinements has resulted in up to three being transferred to the hospital: one due to bruises, another due to being stomped on by a bull and the last one due to head trauma. However, the race of the bulls has been clean, although dangerous air. Beyond the great event of the day, the comings and goings of prominent names have left a curious note this Tuesday morning.
The person in charge has been Cayetano Rivera, who during an interview with La 1 of Radio Televisión Española, has left a message addressed to the network and the government of Spain. The bullfighter has demanded the return of bullfighting to public television, criticizing the rulers in charge of the public entity to eliminate his profession from the screens. His words have gained notoriety on social networks in recent hours.
"I have been missing bullfighting on Spanish Television for too long. I want to take this opportunity to remind this Government that it cannot continue to ignore bullfighting systematically as it has been doing," he told the microphones of La 1. La The main Spanish public channel stopped broadcasting bullfighting programming, excluding the running of the bulls in San Fermín, eight years ago, in 2015.
With these words, the bullfighter leaves a message in three different stations: Radio Televisión Española, the current Government in office and in the candidacies to preside over Moncloa from July 23, just twelve hours after the face-to-face between Pedro Sánchez and Alberto Núñez Feijóo. Beyond his protest message, Rivera continues with his bullfighting activity in Pamplona. These viral statements have not been the only notorious moment of Spanish Television within the San Fermín festivities. One of his reporters, Adrián Arnau, denounced with a video having received degrading and harassing treatment during his duties as a journalist.
